Biography

From 1972 I studied solid state chemistry at Leiden University, I got my PhD in 1982. In 1982, I started at Océ Technologies BV within Applied Research. Later I became Project Leader of the first digital colour copier/printer for document printing based on breakthrough new direct imaging trechnology. In 1993 I was appointed Vice President R&D responsible for Technology Strategy and started with a research program on inkjet technology.
From 1997 until 2002, I was responsible for the total product development program and port/folio for the Business Unit Wide-Format Printing Systems. From 2002 until 2013 I have been responsible for Applied research, Technology and Productdevelopment. My technical expertise is in toner based printing systems and inkjet printing systems.
I have created for Oce the Inkjet-Application Centre at the Eindhoven High Tech Campus with the purpose of establishing new business development activities.
Late 2008 Oce was taken over by Canon with its Headquarters in Tokyo. This added a interesting experience in working with one of the biggest tech companies in the world, however with a complete other culture. I had the opportunity to present the R&D inkjet technology strategy to the senior executives of the Canon Printing Division.
